Uber’s Chief Legal Officer to Leave the Company:

Chief Legal Officer Salle Yoo sent an email to employees, saying she would step down after helping Dara Khosrowshahi find her successor. Yoo has been in charge of Uber’s legal efforts for about five years. Although she was mostly successful in helping the company navigate tricky regulatory quandaries, the San Francisco company now faces a legal nightmare. This is a very big loss for Uber considering that Yoo helped out with issues. The reason for the possible leave could be due to the investigation of federal probes into potential foreign bribes and the use of software to thwart law enforcement stings. The list goes on about Yoo and what she did to help Uber thrive and survive. Uber will definitely lose a lot of legal knowledge and help now that she has departed.

 While searching through social media's, we found multiple complaints about Uber's service and their drivers they employ. One person in particular posted a video of the driver and his license plate number. He posted this to expose the driver because he was being rude to him.

[Credit to USAToday for photo] Well, if you haven't heard about what happened in NYC, something terrrible happened.  Sayfullo Saipov, the suspect, rented a school bus and drove it on to a walkway and killed 8 people.  This is a very sad event for America.  What makes this even more scary is background checks, while necassary, can be wrong.  Saipov previously drove 1400 trips for Uber and never showed signs of a serious criminal. Uber has responded to this event by saying they have reviewed all of his trips to see if there were any reports of him and they can not find anything related to safety of a customer.  As it would seem, Uber isn't at fault for its background check since Saipove never did anything wrong.  Hopefully, we never see something like this again. Uber Leaving London! How will the company deal losing their biggest market in Europe?

Uber’s chief executive, Dara Khosrowshahi, apologized in an open letter on Monday for the company’s “mistakes.” Apparently Uber will not be renewing its transportation authority in London. “While Uber has revolutionized the way people move in cities around the world, it’s equally true that we’ve got things wrong along the way,” Mr. Khosrowshahi wrote. “On behalf of everyone at Uber globally, I apologize for the mistakes we’ve made.” Apparently, the main issues that were occurring were difficulties with Uber's background checks on their employees. Some criminals would easily slip through the cracks, and with the position that Uber is in now with complaints about criminal drivers, it was an easy decision for the new CEO to back out. Uber’s sexual harassment problem will be the subject of an upcoming film Susan Fowler, a 2017 sexual harassment victim of an Uber driver will be the inspiration for a potential film adaptation Variety reports. This film focuses on specific sexual harassment cases and incidents that have occurred in the recent past. This whole thing sprung about when Fowler posted a blog about her incident. She claimed that after she reported her manager for sending her sexually explicit chats at work, Uber’s human resource department took little action against the event and her request to transfer teams within the company was denied. The fact that this situation was big enough to be inspired to script a movie about it is one frightening scenario Uber has to face.
